A Popular Universal Orlando Ride Is STILL Closed Indefinitely

In both Disney World and Universal Orlando, rides sometimes close for unexpected reasons.

Sometimes, rides just need maintenance or are getting an update. Sometimes, the weather can close rides. Sometimes, rides just close due to technical issues. However, one ride in Universal Orlando unexpectedly closed last month, and it’s still closed now.

Back in April, we noticed that Pteranodon Flyers was listed as closed in the Universal app, although there hasn’t been any kind of scheduled maintenance or refurbishment announced for the ride. It also appears on Universal’s ride closure list. Well, as of today, May 17th, the ride still remains on the closed list.

Pteranodon Flyers opened with Jurassic Park at Islands of Adventure in 1999. It’s one of the few children’s rides in the park that takes kids on a one-minute mild gliding adventure through the air. The ride is for people 36” to 56” tall, and anyone taller can only ride if they’re with someone who fits into that height range.

With Pteranodon Flyers being one of the few kid-friendly rides in Universal, this could impact future trips of families with young ones in their group.
