At D23 last year, Disney unveiled an exhibition called Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume with the help of Disney Archives.
Now, that exhibit will be on display for the first time since D23 at the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture.
This exhibit shows off the artistry and device of costumes in various Disney properties with costumes created by award-winning designers. Museum guests will experience a “Cinderella’s Workshop” room where they will see Cinderella dresses used in various film and television adaptations.
The main gallery looks at costumes of Disney Heroes, Disney Villains, and the Spaces Between. Expect to see Belle’s dress in the heroes section, Hocus Pocus costumes in the villains section, and Maleficent’s gown in the antiheroes section.
Overall, the exhibit is set to help show how Disney costuming works to tell the stories. It will open sometime in October with an exact opening date to be announced.
