Big CHANGE Announced for Disney’s Magical Express Replacements

If you visit Disney World by way of Orlando International Airport, we’ve got an important update for you.

Cinderella Castle

How you get to your Disney World hotel could be changing soon — that is, if you take advantage of either the Mears Connect or Sunshine Flyer bus services. These two companies replaced Disney’s Magical Express, and provided a couple of different options for folks. But, that won’t be the case much longer.

Mears Connect and the Sunshine Flyer have decided to partner up and merge into one service! The companies announced the news in a press release, sharing that the companies will merge the two services “into one combined entity to provide exceptional guest transportation from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Walt Disney World Resorts.”

Mears Connect

The new service is called Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine, and will still provide people with advance booking, 24/7 service, and transportation to and from Disney World hotels.

According to the press release, Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine is the only 24-hour transportation service in A/B and C Terminals at MCO and is fully wheelchair accessible and ADA-compliant for all services.

If you’re looking to book the new service, you can do so for trips beginning August 1st, 2023, and there’s a dedicated hotline for new reservations: (407) 423-5566. You can also reach out via email during business hours by sending a message to [email protected].

And, if you already have a Mears Connect reservation, you don’t need to do anything as you won’t be impacted. Folks with Sunshine Flyer reservations traveling between July 14th and 31st should look out for an email on the reservation to confirm further travel instructions.

There are a few more details you might want to know if you have an upcoming trip:

  • Sunshine Flyer guests arriving and departing in July will take their trip with the Sunshine Flyer.
  • For July arrivals and August departures, you’ll be transported through Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine.
  • “All ticketing information including additional tickets, updates to reservations, and cancellations will now operate out of the Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine ticketing portal which you can access here: https://sunshineflyer.com/manage-reservations/.”
  • The new service will NOT offer train-themed transportation like the Sunshine Flyer has in the past.
