Every CONFIRMED Opening Timeline for Disney World’s Upcoming Attractions

Are you ready for a BUSY few months at Walt Disney World?!

Cinderella Castle

LOTS of new offerings are coming throughout the rest of 2023 and into 2024. We’re getting some major hotel updates, new restaurants, and quite a few brand-new attractions. So how do you keep track of all those opening timelines? Well, today we’ve got the full list of every confirmed opening timeline for upcoming Disney World attractions!

Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana

Let’s start with what is perhaps the biggest upcoming opening on the calendar for 2023, the grand opening of Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana in EPCOT. This new walkthrough attraction will allow guests to interact with water in a setting that’s inspired by (you guessed it!) Moana.

The attraction has been under construction for quite some time, but it’s set to open in fall 2023. We’ve already seen some sneak peeks inside the attraction thanks to photos and videos shared by Disney, but we can’t wait to check it out for ourselves!

CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall

Also opening in the fall of 2023 is CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall. These two areas are located inside the EPCOT construction zone next to Journey of Water, and they’ll be completed soon along with the rest of the EPCOT transformation.

CommuniCore Plaza is going to be an outdoor space with areas for festival booths and festival entertainment, as well as a stage for performances. CommuniCore Hall is a large building with lots of indoor room for festival events and character meet and greets.

We’ll definitely be seeing some big changes in EPCOT this year — it’s going to be very exciting!

Figment Meet and Greet

And speaking of changes in EPCOT, Disney announced that a Figment character meet and greet is premiering in the park this summer. We don’t yet have an official date for its launch, but it has to be coming soon since the end of summer is rapidly approaching.

Journey into Imagination with Figment

We’ll be interested to get more details about this character meet, including its location and logistics. (Like, is Figment going to be the same size that he is in his ride? Or will he be a human-size Figment? We’re curious!) There was previously a Figment meet-and-greet in EPCOT decades ago, but we’re still hyped for its return.

Mirabel Meet and Greet

Another meet and greet that’s coming soon? Mirabel from Encanto is taking over the Fairytale Garden meeting space in Magic Kingdom. Guests will be able to visit with her starting in the fall of 2023!

The space was formerly home to Merida, but she has already moved her meet and greet over to the gazebo in Liberty Square. The Fairytale Garden space will be transformed to fit the Encanto theme and will reopen later this year.

Disney100 Celebrations in EPCOT

Disney recently announced that from September 22nd-December 31st, 2023, the Disney100 celebrations will take place at EPCOT. We’ve already seen lots of special offerings at Disneyland Resort for The Walt Disney Company’s big anniversary, but we’re excited to finally see the party come to the east coast.

During that time, there will be special food booths, unique decorations, and even a new nighttime lights show on Spaceship Earth.

New Fireworks at EPCOT

While we’re on the topic of the 100th Anniversary, let’s talk about that new Disney100 fireworks show that’s coming to EPCOT later this year. The show was announced a while back, but Disney hasn’t yet revealed the name, theme, or its premiere date.

EPCOT Forever

All we know currently is that EPCOT Forever is the interim fireworks show until this new one arrives. We’re ready to learn more!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

And finally, we’ve got to talk about a BIG project that’ll be completed next year — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Earlier in 2023, Splash Mountain closed at Magic Kingdom so that it could be transformed into a new Princess and the Frog-themed ride.

This new ride will feature characters you know and love, some toe-tapping tunes, the smell of beignets in the queue, and lots of New Orleans culture. We’re keeping a close eye on the construction, and we’ll make sure to let you know when Disney World releases the official opening date.

That’s all that we have for now! We’ll be on the lookout for more additions announced for the parks, so stay tuned to AllEars. We can’t wait to check out all of these new offerings when they premiere!
