6 Reasons You Shouldn’t Fly to Disney World

So you’re planning a trip to Disney World.

You’ve figured out your budget. You’ve picked out a hotel. You’ve chosen which tickets you need. You also have probably started thinking about transportation: how will you get there? Well, the most obvious answer is you could fly to Orlando, but there are actually some very good reasons why you maybe should NOT do that.

We’re just going to tell you that these are some reasons why you should NOT fly to Disney World.

It may be cheaper to drive

It’s no secret that airfare is expensive, and it seems to be getting even more expensive every year. If you live close enough to drive to Disney World, you could save a lot of money (depending on the cost of gas at the time).

Now this won’t ALWAYS be the case, but it’s something worth considering. Plus a road trip to Disney World could be fun for you and your family.

It may be more convenient to drive

Although Disney World does have an excellent transportation system to get you around at the resort, you’re still going to find yourself at the mercy of that transportation, as well as its schedule. If you drive to Disney World, you can go where you want when you want, giving you more freedom and flexibility.

Driving may also be a better option when you’re traveling from one hotel to another for a dining reservation. So driving might be  more convenient.

Flight delays and cancellations are more common

Let’s face it — flying right now is stressful and can be a big hassle. Flight delays and cancellations are the new normal and pretty much happen with every airline. This isn’t helped by the fact that there’s a pilot shortage and that many airlines are facing staff shortages.

This is particularly troublesome when there’s bad weather — even bad weather in another city could affect flights across the U.S. Also, hurricane season could affect flights in Orlando.

You can bring home more souvenirs

If you drive to Disney World, you’re not hampered by how big — or how heavy — your luggage is. That means you can buy all the souvenirs, including larger items, and load them up in your car. In other words, if you can fit all those things you bought in your car, then you can buy them.

Granted, this might be a problem, but it’s a good problem to have, right?

It’s easier to drive if you’re flying with a baby

If you’re flying with a baby, you’ll have to deal with strollers and diaper bags on the plane. Driving might be way easier. It’s also easier than using Disney World transportation because you won’t have to keep folding and holding your stroller plus your kid on those Disney buses.

This is certainly one of those situations when you might want to consider driving to Disney World.

You could take the train

If you live on a Brightline train route, you could just take the train to Orlando International Airport now that it’s open. This would certainly be a cheaper option than flying and could prove way more convenient.

Brightline has certainly made getting around parts of Florida a lot easier and less expensive for many.
