9 Disney World Opening Dates We STILL Don’t Know

We understand that patience is a virtue, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to maintain.

Cinderella Castle

Ever since Disney World started re-opening in 2020, Disney has slowly announced and brought back several attractions, dining options, lodging, and more. Additionally, the parks have been upgraded, adding new rides and experiences over the past several years. Still, there are quite a few openings that STILL have no announced opening date, and we’re antsy to get new information.

From new ride openings to some favorite restaurants returning, there are still quite a few opening days we haven’t been able to mark in our calendars. With that in mind, here are nine Disney World opening dates that we still don’t know.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Okay, so we do have some semblance of an opening date for this one.  Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the new log flume attraction based on Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, was announced in 2020 and has been slated to open in late 2024 at Magic Kingdom. This ride could open in the fall or winter of 2024 and as we inch closer to 2024, the uncertainty can throw a wrench in your 2024 Disney World plans.

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers

Cake Bake Shop

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers was supposed to open this year at Disney’s BoardWalk, but that timeline has been pushed back into early 2024. The menu will offer sweet and savory treats, pastries, and afternoon tea service in a whimsical atmosphere.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney Springs and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

While the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is open inside Magic Kingdom, the two locations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney Springs are still closed. Unfortunately, no announcements have been made about reopening, so all of your kids’ special Disney Princess and Prince needs will have to be done at the location in Magic Kingdom.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Voyage of the Little Mermaid was a 7-minute show re-telling the classic Disney movie with live actors, puppets, film clips, and special effects at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We say was because it has been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic started and has yet to reopen. In fact, there hasn’t been any indication that it will ever reopen. We’ll keep you posted if any news about a reopening or permanent closure drops.

Restaurant Marrakesh

Restaurant Marrakesh

In the mood for traditional Moroccan cuisine with live musicians and a belly dancer as entertainment? Restaurant Marrakesh in the Moroccan pavilion at EPCOT would’ve been a prime location. No reopening date has been announced, and the menus have been removed from outside the restaurant.

CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza construction

EPCOT is getting two new festival areas for booths, festival entertainment, character meet-and-greets, and stages. CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall are supposed to open next to the new Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana this year, but the clock is ticking as we get closer to the end of the year.

1900 Park Fare

1900 Park Fare

Still stuck in the limbo of a phased reopening, 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a breakfast and dinner buffet-style restaurant with Disney characters. This restaurant also featured an Alice in Wonderland-themed afternoon tea party. Right now there is no given timeline by Disney as to when 1900 Park Fare will reopen.

Garden View Tea Room

Garden View Tea Room

Staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Garden View Tea Room also has no announced reopening date. An English-themed lounge, this tea room served morning and afternoon tea overlooking the gardens and pool at the resort. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a while longer for tea time at this posh, yet charming location.

Summer House on the Lake

The full name is up

Scheduled to open at some point this year, add Summer House on the Lake to the list of projects that are pushing it dangerously close to being delayed into next year. This new Chef Ben Goodnick restaurant at Disney Springs will offer a California-inspired menu, featuring simple ingredients sourced from local grower partnerships and sustainable products.
