ALERT! Park Pass Reservations Are GONE for Most Disney World Visitors!

It’s the day you’ve all been waiting for…visitors are FREE from Park Pass Reservations!

Magic Kingdom in Disney World

Park Passes were introduced when Disney World reopened following the 2020 park closures due to COVID-19 as a way to control crowds in the theme parks. They’ve stuck around ever since and many guests have complained that Disney World doesn’t have the same spontaneity that it did before. But as of January 9th, 2024, that all changes!

Disney Vacation Planner

Park Pass Reservations are now no longer required for parkgoers with a date-based ticket. The reservations required you to choose which park you would visit every day you went to Disney World…but for many of you, that is now a thing of the past!

Reservations ARE still required for Annual Passholders and anyone else with a non-date-based ticket. For example, Florida Residents taking advantage of the new Disney Thrills Ticket deal will need to make Park Pass Reservations.

We visited Disney World on January 9th to cover all of the changes and so far (knock on wood) we haven’t noticed any issues.

We also checked out the Park Pass calendar online and it looks the same as of now.

That’s not all that has changed in Disney World as of January 9th — the Disney Dining Plan has also returned! Not only that, but park hopping is back to normal. No more waiting until 2PM to hop to your second park of the day!
