SECRET'S OUT! McDonald's Reveals Why Their Coke Tastes SO Much Better

If you’ve ever sipped on a crisp, ice-cold Coca-Cola (or Diet Coke!) from McDonald’s, you likely know just how thirst-quenching it can be.

But, have you noticed that Coke from McDonald’s doesn’t taste the same as it does from other locations? In fact, if you ask us, it tastes even better. Turns out, there’s a reason for that and we’re telling you all about it.

McDonald’s is spilling the tea — er, soda when it comes to just how they keep their Coca-Cola tasting so good (and thus keeping us coming back for more)! According to the fast food giant, they “simply follow the guidelines set by Coca-Cola and take steps to ensure that [they] serve a high-quality fountain beverage.”

Okay, so what exactly does that mean? Don’t worry, McDonald’s explains that too. The Coke syrup and water get pre-chilled before they’re put into the fountain dispensers — with a specific ratio of syrup set that allows for ice to melt.

The fountain system is kept cold so that drinks are “always refreshing,” and all water is filtered before it’s added to the dispensers.

Not only that, but McDonald’s says the straw has something to do with it — it’s slightly wider than typical straws, allowing more Coke to hit your taste buds at once.
