Disney+ REMOVES Over 100 Titles From Streaming Catalog

Over the past few months, we’ve seen an uptick in two new “trends” in media.

The first is the frequency at which shows are getting canceled, most notably on Disney-owned platforms. The second is that streaming services have begun removing TV shows and films from their platforms, making them much harder to watch. Now, we’re back to report that Disney+ has now removed even MORE media from one specific region.

According to Deadline, Disney+ removed over 120 titles from its streaming platform in the EMEA region. This consists of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

So why remove all these shows? According to sources on Deadline, it’s because of a library title review. However, there have been several mass Disney+ movie/show removals due to cost-cutting over the past year or so.

  1. Not cool! I’m relieved that I own some of these classics, but you can’t watch the TV movies anywhere else… Disney just sucks these days.

  2. Sad to see so many old and well loved films being removed. Thankfully, we have many on VHS and DVD. Just may have to cancel, as some of the new shows I don’t feel comfortable showing my grandchildren.

  3. With cable (and later satellite) we were forced to subscribe to dozens of channels that we weren’t interested in, so we all said, “Can’t we just subscribe to the channels we want?” Streaming is the unfortunate, more expensive answer to that question.

All the older and less watched material being taken off is for cutting costs. If they remain on a streaming service, residuals will have to be continued to be paid to those who made the movies/series.

  4. What baffles me and makes my head spin literally in circles is that they still try to justify the price hikes i mean wow… so our quality thru out the years gone down hill in many things, but the prices on all goes up sometimes i don’t know why i even bother trying to make sense other than well ok so obviously these streaming services like cable use to be which i remember every time my parents got the cable bill how they new price was going to be higher but somehow always either loose quality or stations etc.. what did we do well said buh bye to cable now we will say buh bye to streaming and hello to what ever comes next…
