Imagine this: you’ve just arrived in Disney World and you’re SO excited to ride your favorite ride.
If you’re a Star Wars fan, that favorite ride is probably either Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run or Rise of the Resistance. Well, we’ve got some bad news about Rise of the Resistance: this ride closes…a LOT. But we’ve got some tips to help you out when that happens.
Rise of the Resistance is probably one of the most technologically advanced rides in Disney World. That means that a lot of things can go wrong that would result in the ride’s closure. So, yes, it closes a lot. On March 20th alone, Rise of the Resistance was closed three times.
The good news is that these ride closures are generally temporary and the ride reopens later. If you’ve purchased an Individual Lightning Lane and the ride closes during your Lightning Lane window, you’ll get an “experience redemption” that will let you hop in the ride’s Lightning Lane later after it reopens.
If for some reason the ride stays closed, you can also request a refund, but you’ll need to go to Guest Services to do so.
