4 Criminally Underrated EPCOT Restaurants

EPCOT is beloved by many, and that very much includes us!

EPCOT Monorail

We love the wide variety of attractions, all the different cultural experiences in the World Showcase, the EPCOT festivals, and of course, all the FOOD! Many of these restaurants are well loved (for good reason), but we do feel these are forgotten about and SHOULDN’T BE!

Garden Grill

Garden Grill is located in The Land pavilion, and not only does this restaurant (very slowly) rotate above the Living with the Land ride below it, but it’s got great food!

Emma with Mickey at Garden Grill in EPCOT

It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a family-style character meal (with some great plant-based options!) with Mickey, Chip, Dale, and Pluto in their adorable farm outfits. One of the most recent reviews left for the restaurant on our website says:

“Wonderful atmosphere, great characters, fresh and tasty meats served hot, sides are hot also and very good. Love the dessert too! One of the great character meals!”

Sunshine Seasons

Also in The Land Pavilion is the quick service spot Sunshine Seasons. While this is a quick-service spot, it’s one of the most SOLID quick-service options out there!

Sunshine Seasons

Not only does this restaurant have a large selection of options for all palates, but you can grab a whole meal, just a dessert, or somewhere in between. Plus, there’s always plenty of indoor seating! A recent review on our website by JustinDoesDisney shared:

“This quick-service location in the Land Pavilion offers a wide array of options to satisfy the most discriminating palates. It’s akin to a mall food court with different stations, self-service beverages, and even a grab-and-go section to maximize precious park time! While there is a lot of seating, it can fill up during peak mealtimes. It certainly doesn’t have the most exciting food in the Park (visit World Showcase during a festival for that!), but it does get the job done in a pinch. Even if you don’t stop to eat here, it’s a great place to grab some FREE ice water while passing by.”

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Over in the Norway Pavilion, you’ll pass by Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. What you may not know, is that inside this beautiful building is an even more gorgeous character dining experience!

Akershus

While this is a little pricier than some other dining experiences, we’ve noticed that the food here seems to be more consistently enjoyable than many other character dining experiences. You’ll get a chance to meet multiple different Disney Princesses at this family-style meal, like Snow White and Belle! A recent review by Camryn1993 shares:

“I tell all my friends with kiddos to dine here instead of Cinderella’s royal table. Much better food and they will still meet a bunch of princesses!”

Spice Road Table

This last one is for our more adventurous eaters (but not too adventurous!), or those that really want to experience a great meal in the World Showcase that may be different than what they’re used to! Spice Road Table in the Morocco Pavilion is the place to  go!

Spice Road Table

There’s no prix-fixe or family-style meal here — order what you’d like off the menu and get ready to be impressed! A review by FloraFan on our website shared:

“I absolutely loved my meal here. So nice to have a few small plates to try different things. Everything I ate was super good. I sat on the patio during the heat of a summer day and enjoyed it thoroughly. Fans and shade really keep things comfortable.”

  1. Great seeing Spice Road Table getting some love! I’ve spent many an afternoon sheltering on the patio with a tasty treat and cold beverage while a Florida monsoon blows around me. Bonus points if the rain is so heavy you can’t see Spaceship Earth!

  2. Sunshine Seasons is our favorite quick service restaurant in all of Disney. There’s lots of options, good desserts, and plenty of seating. It’s the restaurant most friends have thanked us for recommending. Epcot has great food in the World Showcase but this is our lunch spot every day we’re there.

  3. Garden Grill isn’t that good. Liberty Tree Tavern is better if you want a Thanksgiving meal. The Land’s food court is not that good. We don’t see anything we like there. The way it was 20 years ago was better–more choices, more American food. Current food court has more Asian dishes–picker eaters don’t like it.

    1. 100% the original land food court was spectacular. They had the best chicken Caesar salad I had ever had.
