The George W. Bush Institute is loaning 60 portraits of service members and veterans painted by former President George W. Bush to the American Adventure Pavilion in EPCOTBut, as part of this installation — a portion of the pavilion will have to temporarily close!

The American Heritage Gallery inside the American Adventure Pavilion will be closed for refurbishment beginning May 28th, 2024, to welcome the new paintings.

The portraits will arrive in EPCOT and debut on June 9th, 2024. The exhibit is called Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors. Each portrait is accompanied by a biography written by the former President. Information about resources to support veterans and their families will also be available inside the exhibit.

Ken Hersh, president and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, has said that he hopes the exhibit will “remember the leadership, service, and sacrifice behind each of the heroes painted and the unique challenges our service members and their families face when transitioning out of the military.”
