There’s nearly no bad time to be in the Disney World parks.
It is the Most Magical Place on Earth, and we can’t think of a day that we wouldn’t want to be there. However, there is one time that we’ve noticed Disney fans appear to be divided about being in the parks, and perhapsĀ Magic Kingdom specifically. And truthfully, we can’t say we blame them.
It’s no secret that Florida is a very rainy location. In the summer months, you can pretty much expect rain to come pouring down at some point in the afternoon. And it’s at those times, when the rain in coming down hard, that we noticed the division between park goers. A few dedicated people will brave the rain, while others will quickly ditch the parks!
Magic Kingdom is especially prone to rainy day sadness since it has so many outdoor rides. May 17th, 2024 was a rainy morning, and while all the parks saw at least one ride closure around the time of the rain, Magic Kingdom suffered the greatest ride heartache. Around 11 AM, when the rain was down pouring, SIX Magic Kingdom rides were temporarily closed — all of them outdoor rides. The Jungle Cruise, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, The Barnstormer, Tomorrowland Speedway, Dumbo, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad all closed down until noon (when the rain eventually slowed down and stopped).
Even with rides closing during a rainy day, there’s lots to do in the parks while you wait out the rain. Each park has shows, indoor rides, and restaurants to take cover in. Plus, rainy days have some of the shortest wait times! See for yourself below.
