May 4th is a BIG day for Star Wars fans.
That’s because it’s the official Star Wars day when we celebrate all things from a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars day usually brings a few NEW things to Disney Parks (including some fun food AND merchandise), but it also often brings some HUGE announcements about the future of the Star Wars franchise.
One HUGE thing already happening on Star Wars Day is that actress Carrie Fisher will posthumously get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We also already know that Star Wars shows will premiere on Disney+ on May 4th: Star Wars: Visions. Also Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures will premiere on Disney Jr. and Disney+ on May 4th.
However, what about those announcements we haven’t seen yet? Well, here are the ones we expect Disney to drop on May the 4th.
Full Ahsoka Trailer
Although we got our first Ahsoka trailer at Star Wars Celebration Europe, a longer trailer was exclusively shown ONLY at that event that featured a better look at Lars Mikkelsen as Thrawn.
Disney will likely release that longer trailer to the public on May 4th, but we’ll have to wait and see to be sure!
The Acolyte Teaser
We learned a little more about The Acolyte series coming to Disney+ in 2024. The series is set between the Old Republic and the prequels, about 100 years out from the High Republic books.
According to Disney, The Acolyte will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes but discovers the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”
However, Disney did NOT release a teaser for the series at Star Wars Celebration, so we could see the first teaser for The Acolyte on May 4th.
Skeleton Crew Trailer
One thing guests at Star Wars Celebration DID see was a trailer for the Disney+ Skeleton Crew series starring Jude Law. That trailer, though, was shown exclusively at the event.
There’s a good possibility that this Skeleton Crew trailer will be released to the public on May 4th.
More Details on the 3 New Star Wars Movies
Disney announced that three NEW Star Wars movies were in the works, and we got some brief details on those James Mangold will direct a movie that goes back to the “dawn of the Jedi.” Dave Filoni will direct a movie to close the stories being told in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and other Disney+ shows. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct a movie that takes place after The Rise of Skywalker and will bring back Daisy Ridley as Rey.
Right now, those are the ONLY details we know about those three movies, but we expect Disney to make some announcements offering up some new information about each.
Star Wars Hotel Changes
Last year, just before May 4th, Disney announced a new offering for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. We think it’s likely something new will be coming to the experience soon and Disney just may announce it in time for May 4th.
What might that offering be? Last year, the hotel added a special make-up session that guests could book to get their face painted to either an alien species from Star Wars or even a specific character.
Of course, we are merely speculating as to what we expect to see on May 4th (okay, some of it might even be wishful thinking), but we’ll know for sure next week when Star Wars Day arrives! So be sure to check back with AllEars to stay up to date on EVERYTHING Disney announces then.

What Star Wars announcement would you like Disney to make on May 4th? Let us know in the comments!
I would like Disney to announce that they’re on the cusp of actual cloning and maybe they can give us back some of the people/characters that have been lost to us, as we all will pass sometime….
I hope it’s The Acolyte teaser
