Disneyland’s hit a stroke of bad luck when it comes to weather lately.
While we thought a big “Southern Soaker” storm would be blowing through Disney World this past weekend, it appears that the weather in Southern California may have had bigger plans in store. Although there’s plenty to celebrate in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, it seems you may want to double-check just how long you truly have to stay in the parks today, February 5th, because there’s been a slight change of plans.
We recently noticed that Disneyland has made another change to their park hours this week. Southern California has been under a state of emergency due to the risk of atmospheric rivers that can form when weather conditions are just right. Now, it appears that the risk of inclement weather is contributing to Disneyland closing down earlier than previously scheduled.
When checking the Disneyland app early this afternoon, we noticed that Disneyland is now closing at 8 PM PST…
…. and Disney California Adventure is also closing at the same time.
This is a few hours earlier than originally scheduled. A 10 PM PST closing was previously noted in the app this morning. Disneyland also modified the park hopping hours to reflect the updated change.
While the change may be subtle without an “official” reason noted by Disney on their website, it is significant to those who were looking to take advantage of every hour possible in the park. On occasion, Disney will modify park hours and, sometimes, even close the park all day long if they feel like the safety of their visitors and Cast Members would be put at risk.
According to an article by the Orange County Register, Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and SeaWorld are all closing early due to the heavy rains projected.
We’ll be following the weather conditions and park hour modifications in Disneyland closely, so be sure to stay tuned with us for the latest in updates.
