I’ve Gotta Be Honest. I Love This HATED Disney World Restaurant, and I’m Not Afraid To Admit It.

It’s no secret that we are very opinionated about Disney World restaurants. That’s because we eat at Disney World every day, and we’ve dined at every restaurant in the parks and at the resorts.

Tony’s Town Square

There is one restaurant, though, that we’ve been unhappy with for a very long time, but we ate there again recently and our entire opinion about the place has changed.

We’ve made it no secret that we have never really been big fans of Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Now, don’t get us wrong — this restaurant is cute with its Lady and the Tramp theme, but the food here has always disappointed us. In our opinion, the food here is pretty basic and just not that great.

But something has changed. The last few times we’ve dined here, we…liked Tony’s Town Square. The menu here got an overhaul in 2022 and the mozzarella sticks (which are literally a FOOT LONG) and garlic bread with cheesy sauce won us over.

Garlic Bread With CHEESE!

We would book a reservation at Tony’s Town Square JUST for those two menu items. However, even the entrees have improved. We ordered the Tortellini al Forno during our last visit and were shocked at how good it was.

It’s still not the fanciest Italian food you can get in Disney World, but we’ve seen enough improvement to say we love this restaurant now. The Lady and the Tramp has finally been redeemed! If you haven’t been here in a while, we recommend trying it again.

We also have to mention one other restaurant in Magic Kingdom. When it comes to counter service food, you’ll usually see us ranking Pinocchio’s Village Haus at the bottom of our list. The food here has been consistently mediocre for us for a long time.

However, the Flatbreads here have finally won us over. That’s surprising because counter service pizza at Disney World has never really wowed us. So when we ordered the Pepperoni Flatbread and the All-Meat Flatbread recently, our expectations were low. These flatbreads have great flavors, with lots of cheesiness. Is this still a basic meal? Yes. But it’s sure to please even the pickiest eaters in your group.

One of the sides we had, though, really stood out. You HAVE to order the Tomato Basil Soup. We recommend getting the and garlic bread sticks and dipping them in the soup. The soup’s flavor is bright and fresh.

Finally, the Key Lime Pie Tart really satisfied our sweet tooth. It was so creamy and tart, but the sweetness combines with the tart to create that perfect balance.

We’re still surprised by how much this meal surprised us, but if you’ve been avoiding Pinocchio Village Haus, it might be time to visit it once again.

It just goes to show that Disney World restaurants can change for the better, even if they have been sitting at the bottom of our list for a while. So we suggest trying both of these restaurants out the next time you visit Magic Kingdom: you just might find yourself pleasantly surprised.

  1. I just ate at Tony’s yesterday, based on your recent reappraisals and the addition of garlic bread on the menu. It was wonderful! The decor is so in keeping with both the Victorian era and Lady and the Tramp. You’re so right about the garlic bread with cheesy Parmesan sauce. Delicious! And my salmon was flavorful and tender. An all-around Gold Star for this restaurant’s improvements.
