NEWS: Opening Date REVEALED for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Blizzard Beach To Close for Refurbishment

Ever since the pandemic, we’ve seen a strange trend with two of Disney World’s parks.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are the two water parks on the Disney World property, and for the past few years, they haven’t ever been open at the same time. They’ve been swapping back and forth being “closed for refurbishment,” and as we plan for the spring season, the trend is going to continue!

Currently, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is open for operation (even though it has had to close a few days this winter due to the weather). However, Blizzard Beach will be closing for refurbishment at the end of the day on March 16th.

Then, starting on March 17th, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen. Just in time for spring break and summer vacations!

Theme park reservations are not currently required to visit the Disney World water parks. To visit these parks, you can either buy water park tickets individually or you can add the Park Hopper Plus or Water Park and Sports option to a regular theme park ticket.

No hours are currently listed for the park on the Typhoon Lagoon website, but it’s likely they’ll be added closer to the opening date. Stay tuned to AllEars for more updates about the water park’s reopening!

  1. Such a disappointing trend that both water parks won’t stay open at the same time (especially during the summer as we prefer Blizzard Beach to Typhoon Lagoon.)

    1. We usually go in Summer and keep trying to get to Blizzard Beach! Our daughters haven’t been there sine they were young and don’t really remember it! Plus it would really help with the crowds if both parks could be open together like they were at times prepandemic! We like Typhoon lagoon, but we’ve been there alot and it’s nice to have a choice!
